It is time to take action.

Why Now?

Skyrocketing Addiction Rates

Addiction rates in the United States, especially among adolescents, are skyrocketing. Deadly overdoses among adolescents nearly doubled from 492 to 954 between 2019 and 2020 and jumped another 20% in 2021 (Journal of the American Medical Association).

With this urgent problem of rising addiction rates, parents, relatives, and friends of substance abusers are at a loss as to how they can help their loved ones.  They often put all their energy onto the “identified patient” and aren’t even aware there is someone else they need to pay equal attention to – themselves.  By helping parents and others realize that their own behaviors (such as enabling, co-dependence, over-control, denial, and lack of boundaries) have a significant impact on the substance user, the film hopes to give families a chance to heal more quickly.
